Murphy To Head 33/40 ABA MEMBERS ONLY


BIRMINGHAM, AL --- August 29, 2007 --- Allbritton Communications Company (ACC) announced today that William F. (Mike) Murphy has been promoted to President of ACC's affiliated company, TV Alabama, Inc. where he serves as General Manager of WCFT-TV and WJSU-TV together with WBMA-LP, the combined ABC affiliate in the Birmingham/Tuscaloosa/Anniston, AL market. The stations operate in concert as Alabama's abc33/40.

For the past 3 years, Murphy has served as Vice President at abc33/40. Prior to that, he was its General Sales Manager. Murphy came to the Birmingham market from Nashville where he served for 5 years as General Sales Manager for WSMV-TV, and was with the station for a total of 10 years. A graduate of Belmont University, Nashville, TN, Murphy has exceptional experience in ad sales, people-motivation and has demonstrated tremendous creativity, along with outstanding managerial skills.

· Little Rock, AR (KATV)
· Tulsa, OK (KTUL)

In addition, ACC owns and operates a 24-hour cable news channel in Washington, DC, NewsChannel 8 and The Politico newspaper.
