The 2008 Alabama Broadcasters Association Convention will be held July 17 - 20, 2008 at Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa in Point Clear, Alabama.
Assessing the 2007 Convention, ABA President, Sharon Tinsley said, "The 59th annual ABA convention at Point Clear's Grand Hotel was a success by all measures. In fact, Tina Currier, who has been in the ABA office for 15 years, says it was the smoothest ever. Attendance was great, even in the meetings! It’s always a challenge to get people to attend sessions when you’re at such a beautiful venue but we had good numbers in every meeting."
At the 2007 Convention, ten students were named recipients of ABA Scholarships. Veteran Selma radio and television executive, Mike Reynolds was named ABA Broadcaster of the Year. The ABA Citizen of the Year was Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor of Troy University.
